Failed their Books:-
Although the Quran never hints that the previous revelations have had their TEXTS CORRUPTED in their Books, it none the less accuses the followers of Moses and Jesus of failing Allah's rules and regulations by misrepresenting their meaning and or not following the law:
5: 12 Allah did aforetime take a Covenant from the Children of Israel and We appointed twelve captains among them and Allah said: "I am with you: if ye (but) establish [because you established] regular prayers practice regular charity believe in My apostles honor and assist them and loan to Allah a beautiful loan verily I will wipe out from you your evils and admit you to gardens with rivers flowing beneath; but if any of you after this resisteth faith he hath truly wandered from the path of rectitude." 13 But because of their breach of their Covenant We cursed them and made their hearts grow hard: they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the Message that was sent them nor wilt thou cease to find them barring a few ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind. 14 From those too who call themselves Christians We did take a Covenant but they forgot a good part of the Message that was sent them: so We estranged them with enmity and hatred between the one and the other to the Day of Judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.
*** The Quran charges that some of the followers of Moses and Jesus of having misrepresented the contents of the books that Allah had revealed to them, but it does not charge that the texts of the Books themselves were corrupted or changed.
Once more, the translator , made a deliberate misrepresentation of the sentence 'Li'an Aqumtumu'l Salawat' which should have read 'because - NOT if [itha] - you established regular prayers' which changes the true meaning of the verse.
Most relevant of all is the fact that Muhammad was depending entirely on the Books that were available to him at the time, the contents of which he never once implied that they are not the original as given by Allah to his prophets Moses and Jesus.
He repeatedly instructs his followers to believe in them and that he (Muhammad) was their authenticator "Khatim al Anbiaa" [seal of the prophets].
6: 91 No just estimate of Allah do they make when they say: "Nothing doth Allah send down to man (by way of revelation)": Say: "Who then sent down the Book which Moses brought? a light and guidance to man: but ye make it into (separate) sheets for show while ye conceal much (of its contents): therein were ye taught that which ye knew not neither ye nor your fathers." Say: "Allah (sent it down)": then leave them to plunge in vain discourse and trifling. 92 And this is a Book which We have revealed bringing blessings and confirming (the revelations) which came before it: that thou mayest warn the Mother of Cities and all around her. Those who believe in the Hereafter believe in this (Book) and they are constant in guarding their prayers.
Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 4435 Narrated byAbuHurayrah
(This is Ma'mar's version which is more accurate.) A man and a woman of the Jews committed fornication. Some of them said to the others: Let us go to this Prophet, for he has been sent with an easy law. If he gives a judgment lighter than stoning, we shall accept it, and argue about it with Allah, saying: It is a judgment of one of your prophets. So they came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) who was sitting in the mosque among his companions. They said: AbulQasim, what do you think about a man and a woman who committed fornication? He did not speak to them a word till he went to their school. He stood at the gate and said:
I adjure you by Allah Who revealed the Torah to Moses, what (punishment) do you find in the Torah for a person who commits fornication, if he is married?
They said: He shall be blackened with charcoal, taken round a donkey among the people, and flogged.
A young man among them kept silent. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) emphatically adjured him, he said:
By Allah, since you have adjured us (we inform you that) we find stoning in the Torah (is the punishment for fornication).
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: So when did you lessen the severity of Allah's command? He said: A relative of one of our kings had committed fornication, but his stoning was suspended. Then a man of a family of common people committed fornication. He was to have been stoned, but his people intervened and said: Our man shall not be stoned until you bring your man and stone him. So they made a compromise on this punishment between them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: So I decide in accordance with what the Torah says. He then commanded regarding them and they were stoned to death. Az-Zuhri said: We have been informed that this verse was revealed about them: "It was We Who revealed the Law (to Moses): therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the Prophet who bowed (as in Islam) to Allah's will.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.829 Narrated byAbdullah bin Umar
The Jews came to Allah's Apostle and told him that a man and a woman from amongst them had committed illegal sexual intercourse. Allah's Apostle said to them, "What do you find in the Torah (old Testament) about the legal punishment of Ar-Rajm (stoning)?" They replied, (But) we announce their crime and lash them." Abdullah bin Salam said, "You are telling a lie; Torah contains the order of Rajm."
They brought and opened the Torah and one of them solaced his hand on the Verse of Rajm and read the verses preceding and following it. Abdullah bin Salam said to him, "Lift your hand." When he lifted his hand, the Verse of Rajm was written there. They said, "Muhammad has told the truth; the Torah has the Verse of Rajm. The Prophet then gave the order that both of them should be stoned to death. ('Abdullah bin 'Umar said, "I saw the man leaning over the woman to shelter her from the stones."-
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 8.809 Narrated byIbn Umar
A Jew and a Jewess were brought to Allah's Apostle on a charge of committing an illegal sexual intercourse. The Prophet asked them. "What is the legal punishment (for this sin) in your Book (Torah)?" They replied, "Our priests have innovated the punishment of blackening the faces with charcoal and Tajbiya." 'Abdullah bin Salam said, "O Allah's Apostle, tell them to bring the Torah."
The Torah was brought, and then one of the Jews put his hand over the Divine Verse of the Rajam (stoning to death) and started reading what preceded and what followed it. On that, Ibn Salam said to the Jew, "Lift up your hand." Behold! The Divine Verse of the Rajam was under his hand. So Allah's Apostle ordered that the two (sinners) be stoned to death, and so they were stoned. Ibn 'Umar added: So both of them were stoned at the Balat and I saw the Jew sheltering the Jewess.
*** In all the Hadiths above, one thing is certain, the TEXT of the RAJAM Verse was in the TORAH in the days of Muhammad and hence the TEXT of the Torah was not CORRUPTED or ALTERED but in all the above stories, the Jews deliberately MISINTERPRETED the law.
They CORRUPTED the MEANING and not the TEXT ***
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 8.816 Narrated byIbn Abbas
'Umar said, "I am afraid that after a long time has passed, people may say, 'We do not find the Verses of the Rajam (stoning to death) in the Holy Book,' and consequently they may go astray by leaving an obligation that Allah has revealed. Lo! I confirm that the penalty of Rajam be inflicted on him who commits illegal sexual intercourse, if he is already married and the crime is proved by witnesses or pregnancy or confession." Sufyan added, "I have memorized this narration in this way." 'Umar added, "Surely Allah's Apostle carried out the penalty of Rajam, and so did we after him."
*** On the other hand, the Muhammadans who FALSELY and MENDACIOUSLY accuse the Jews of CORRUPTING their Holy Book, cannot explain how one of the most knowledgeable and faithful companions of Muhammad is declaring that the RAJAM VERSE is MISSING from the QURAN; the allegedly INCORRUPTIBLE word of Allah ***
Notes: According to the Ahadith Umar ibn al Khattab was able to read the Torah in Arabic (Tarmidi Hadith 194).
Waraqa bin Naufal, Khadija's uncle was reading the Gospels in Arabic (Bukhari Hadith 6.478) and in Hebrew (Bukhari Hadith 1.3)
And Finally, FACT overwhelms FICTION-
Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 4434 Narrated byAbdullah Ibn Umar
A group of Jews came and invited the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) to Quff. So he visited them in their school. They said: AbulQasim, one of our men has committed fornication with a woman; so pronounce judgment upon them.
They placed a cushion for the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) who sat on it and said: Bring the Torah. It was then brought. He then withdrew the cushion from beneath him and placed the Torah on it saying:
I believed in thee and in Him Who revealed thee.
He then said: Bring me one who is learned among you. Then a young man was brought.
The transmitter then mentioned the rest of the tradition of stoning similar to the one transmitted by Malik from Nafi'(No. 4431).
*** This is one of the most remarkable Hadiths since it shows that Muhammad actually RESPECTED & VENERATED the Torah to such an extent, that he would not sit on the cushion but had the Torah rest on it.
This Hadith alone DESTROYS any and ALL allegations that the TEXT of the Torah had been TAMPERED with BEFORE the arrival of Muhammad on the stage of history ***
